On the Run

Driving down the never-ending highway through the Arizona desert towards the setting sun, I saw the flashing lights in my rear view mirror. Crap.

I had just killed my wife. Her body was in the trunk. If the cops found her, I would be back in jail. I couldn’t go back there. Not after what had happened. I was prepared to do anything.

I pulled over to the side of the road, remembering to put on my blinker. I didn’t want any trouble. The police car pulled up behind me. A Ray-Ban wearing horse stepped out of the drivers seat and proceeded to trot over to my car. His partner stayed where he was.

The horse took one look at me and said “Additional Help.” into his radio. I gulped. Did he recognize me? Had the word gotten out so quickly? No, no it could’t have. The other officer walked over and asked me to step out of the car. While I was being frisked, the horse walked over to my trunk.

“Hey!” I shouted, “Don’t you need a warrant for that?”

“I do not have to consult any other person - I’m my own” he paused as he struggled to lift the trunk open with his muzzle.

I needed to do something quick. I reached around and quickly grabbed a taser gun of the belt of the officer searching me. I struggled and got free, and plunged the taser gun into the backside of the horse, sending thousands of volts of electricity into his body.

But nothing happened.

“W-what the hell!” I shouted in disbelief as the other officer attempted to handcuff me.

“rubberized pants” smirked the horse.
